Standard Maintenance Operations

The Internal Drainage Boards (IDBs) within the Water Management Alliance (WMA) each have their own Standard Maintenance Operations (SMO) document. 

These documents outline the suite of SMO practices used when maintaining IDB-adopted watercourses. 

SMO practices ensure that: 

• A suite of SMO practices can be undertaken by the board when maintaining IDB adopted watercourses.  
• Uniform maintenance procedures are carried out to a consistently high standard across all Boards. 
• The Environment Team can carry out annual audits to identify areas for improvement and highlight positive outcomes.
