Environmental Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Environment Team at the Water Management Alliance (WMA)— a group of Internal Drainage Boards (IDBs) responsible for managing flood risk and land drainage across the region.
The role is based in Stewartby, Bedfordshire and will primarily support the Upper Ouse Water Management Board (a WMA Member IDB). Some travel may be required across the wider WMA catchments (predominantly to Norfolk, Suffolk and South Lincolnshire) including to the WMA’s Head Office in King’s Lynn.
GIS Technician
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at the Water Management Alliance (WMA)— a group of Internal Drainage Boards (IDBs) responsible for managing flood risk and land drainage across the region.

Upper Ouse Catchment Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at the Upper Ouse Water Management Board based in Stewartby, Bedfordshire.
If no roles are currently available, but you’re motivated and interested in water level management, environmental protection or infrastructure – and you have relevant skills – we’d still like to hear from you.
Relevant skills:
- Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering graduates, either starting out or with consultancy/contracting experience
- Experienced project managers with PRINCE2 or equivalent qualifications
- Ecologists or environmental science graduates passionate about river systems and biodiversity
