King's Lynn IDB
Upgrades at Eau Brink Tidal Outfall will replace ageing tidal doors and improve flood resilience, protecting the upstream fen and surrounding communities from tidal flooding.
Securing long-term flood protection for over 15,000 homes, 500 businesses and more than 25,000 hectares of agricultural fenland farmland, vital for food production in the King’s Lynn area
Protecting homes, businesses, environmentally significant SSSI and agricultural fenland from surface water flooding, by replacing infrastructure at the end of its service life. The use of fish-friendly pumps will support ecology in the watercourses and drainage networks.
The scheme replaced the original pumping station (built in the early 1940s) with a modern facility designed for greater efficiency, environmental sensitivity and improved flood risk management.
