    Pay your rates

    Please refer to the back of your drainage rate demand for the methods of payment available.

     

    We receive funding from two main sources:

    • Drainage Rates – charged directly to owners of agricultural land and buildings within the Drainage District.
    • Special Levies – paid by Local Authorities, reflecting the proportion of other (non-agricultural) land and property in the district.

    The Board sets the rate and special levies each year based on an estimate of its net expenditure. Our policy is to limit any increases to the Retail Price Index, as indicated by the Office for National Statistics for October every year.

    The Over & Willingham Internal Drainage Board (IDB) joined the Water Management Alliance as an ‘Associated Board’* on 1st April 2026.
    Policies and procedure documents relating to the Boards activities are currently being updated and will be published here at www.wlma.org.uk as soon as possible.

    * The board remains an independent organisation with its own governance and decision-making powers, but chooses to receive administrative and technical services from the WMA under an agreed arrangement. The board is therefore “Associated” with the WMA for the delivery of services, rather than being a full “Member Board”.
