PROJECTS
Coastal Engineering
Felixstowe
Delivered on behalf of
East Suffolk Council
August 2025

The East Suffolk Water Management Board’s Coastal Team carried out works to replace deteriorated coping stones along the Felixstowe sea wall, applying reinforced concrete to ensure long-term structural stability. New coping units were installed and textured to closely replicate the existing materials, maintaining both the visual character and performance of the original structure. As the Main Project Coordinator, the team also undertook all associated public safety measures and site liaison activities, ensuring that works were completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to residents and visitors.
Delivered on behalf of East Suffolk Council, the project reflects a continued commitment to maintaining resilient and well-managed coastal infrastructure across the district. By proactively repairing and strengthening key sections of the sea wall, the works help to mitigate long-term risks associated with erosion and coastal flooding. This coordinated approach supports a robust and sustainably managed coastline, contributing to the ongoing protection of the Felixstowe frontage.
