Drainage Rates and Special Levies
We receive funding from two main sources:
- Drainage Rates – charged directly to owners of agricultural land and buildings within the Drainage District.
- Special Levies – paid by Local Authorities, reflecting the proportion of other (non-agricultural) land and property in the district.
The Board sets the rate and special levies each year based on an estimate of its net expenditure. Our policy is to limit any increases to the Retail Price Index, as indicated by the Office for National Statistics for October every year.
